A Historic Icon
Nestled in the heart of Dallas, TX, Strait Ln has a rich history that dates back to 1971. Originally designed by renowned architects Bill Booziotis and Downing Thomas and brought to life by master builder George Sebastian, this home embodies the timeless elegance of mid-century modern design. A true architectural gem, it has been celebrated for decades for its seamless fusion of innovation and enduring charm.
A Modern Transformation
In 2023, local Dallas developer Clyde Kemp reimagined Strait Ln for today’s discerning homeowners. This newly renovated residence now boasts a separate guesthouse, an expansive backyard, and stunning views of Batchman Branch, a tranquil tributary of the Trinity River. Thoughtfully updated to balance history with modernity, the home reflects the beauty of its natural surroundings while offering the comforts of contemporary living.
Our Role in the Design
Collaborating with Clyde Kemp, our design team played an integral role in this home's transformation. The vision: to honor the original architecture while introducing the sophisticated “Japandi” aesthetic—a blend of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian warmth.
Our team restored the iconic wood-slated ceilings, a signature feature of the home’s mid-century roots, and incorporated high-end materials and refined craftsmanship throughout. The result is a harmonious blend of historic charm and modern design that feels as luxurious as it is timeless.
